Presence Film

Soderbergh tests his creative boundaries in this nifty ghostly tale filmed completely from the viewpoint of the phantom. As a family including mother Rebekah and troubled teenage daughter Chloe moves into their new suburban house, the lens – as the unseen entity – tracks their movements. The daughter appears aware of the poltergeist, and the entity appears defensive toward her. However, the motive remains? This Self-Referential Film

Cage embraces his unique fame via this meta comedy caper. This Creepy Thriller

Derrickson's claustrophobic thriller remains effective even without a continuation. Located in 1978 Denver, a series of child abductions has made the youth on edge. But the disconnected phone on the wall repeatedly calls, with eerie communicators offering help, while the intuitive nightmares from his sibling Gwen could save him. A solid creepfest. The Tammy Faye Biopic

In the battle between God and Mammon, it's a knockout win for materialism in Michael Showalter's wonderfully garish film adaptation regarding the shamed TV preacher and her criminal husband. Garfield portrays the corrupt Bakker, who declares at the beginning, claiming divine approval for wealth. Both individuals begin capitalizing on the nation's religious faith. It's an extravaganza of tacky decor, overdone appearance and bad faith, though Jessica Chastain manages to present the character as a sympathetic figure. Next Tuesday, late night, the Film4 channel
